When to Use Free vs Paid Online Dating MembershipsCopyright 2006 by Jeffery Bradley - All Rights
Reserved -- Contact Info There are two different types of memberships you will need to consider when choosing an online Black dating service. Some sites offer free memberships while others offer trial/ paid memberships. Both have there advantages and disadvantages. Let’s explore each. Free Membership A free membership gives you the opportunity to check out what a site has to offer before you spend any money. This is a great way to sample many different dating sites. A free membership typically will allow you to create a profile and look at other profiles forever because they don’t expire. However, the services you can use on the site like sending/receiving emails, advanced searches, or adding more than one photo are limited or not available. Use the free membership to sign up for 2 to 3 sites. This is a great way to practice creating a profile, check out the features of each site, and see if you like the online dating game without spending any money. Keep in mind, a free site may not necessarily be the best bargain when it comes to dating sites. If you are really serious about finding a match a free site may not be for you. Since there is nothing to lose in joining a free site, these sites are often filled with members who aren’t really serious about finding matches Trial / Paid Membership All paid membership sites have trial memberships where you get to use everything the site has the offer for a limited time only. Trial memberships are either free or cost less than a full membership. During the trial period you are doing everything a paid member is allowed to do such as creating a profile, participating in chat rooms, corresponding via instant messaging, and participate in any of the features the site offers. After the trial period is over (7-14 days), your access will be terminated unless you convert to a paid membership. A paid membership is going to give you full access to all of the features of the online dating site without any limitations. You are more likely to find members on paid sites that are committed to meeting matches. These types of dating sites give you the opportunity to view as many profiles as you like and send as many messages to whomever you want for as long as you are a member. The only real downside of a paid membership is that membership fees aren't always refundable. Your membership typically covers a certain period of time. If you become unhappy with the service, or better yet, if you find someone and you no longer need the services that online dating provides, you may not get your money back. Just be sure you read and understand all the fine print before handing over your credit card number. |
